AI Season of Code is an international innovation initiative centred on the exploration and application of artificial intelligence in solving real-world challenges. The programme is designed to bring together a global community of learners, developers, researchers, and innovators who share a common interest in building intelligent systems that are both practical and impactful.

The challenge is open to participants of all backgrounds, with no restrictions on academic discipline or professional experience. Whether one is a beginner taking initial steps into programming or an advanced practitioner working with machine learning systems, the initiative provides an inclusive environment to experiment, learn, and create.

Participants are encouraged to develop original solutions that demonstrate thoughtful application of artificial intelligence. Projects may address challenges across domains such as healthcare, education, finance, sustainability, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and creative technologies. The emphasis is placed not only on technical implementation but also on problem relevance, usability, and real-world applicability.

Individuals may participate independently or as part of small teams. There are no constraints on programming languages, frameworks, or tools. Participants are free to adopt any approach they deem suitable, provided the final output reflects genuine effort, originality, and technical clarity.

Throughout the programme, participants will have access to a supportive ecosystem that includes learning resources, community interaction, and optional guidance from mentors. The objective is to create an environment that mirrors real-world development practices, encouraging collaboration, problem-solving, and iterative improvement.

AI Season of Code is not merely a competitive exercise but a structured opportunity for intellectual growth. It aims to encourage participants to think critically, design responsibly, and engage meaningfully with modern artificial intelligence technologies.

By the conclusion of the challenge, participants will have developed not only functional projects but also enhanced their understanding of applied AI systems and their role in addressing contemporary global issues.

Requirements

Participants are expected to submit a complete and functional project that has been developed during the course of the challenge. Each submission must clearly demonstrate both technical execution and conceptual clarity.

A well-structured project submission should begin with a clear explanation of the problem being addressed. This should include the context of the issue, its relevance, and the audience affected by it. The objective is to ensure that the problem statement is both meaningful and well-defined.

Following this, participants must provide a detailed overview of their solution. This section should explain how artificial intelligence has been utilised, what approach has been taken, and what distinguishes the solution from existing alternatives. Clarity of thought and logical structure are essential.

A demonstration video of approximately two to five minutes is required. This video should present the working of the project in a clear and concise manner, highlighting key features, user interaction, and overall functionality. The intention is to allow reviewers to understand the project without requiring extensive setup.

All submissions must include a publicly accessible source code repository. The repository should be well-organised and include necessary documentation, installation instructions, and explanations of dependencies. A clean and readable codebase will be considered favourably during evaluation.

Participants are also expected to include supporting documentation outlining the system design, technology stack, and any AI models used. Where applicable, performance metrics, training details, or evaluation results may also be included to strengthen the submission.

Optional materials such as deployment links, interface designs, or additional research notes may be provided to enhance understanding of the project.
